After extension of electrification to Ipswich and Norwich the Class 309s were common on working northwards from Colchester. Here Class 309 No. 309603 forms the 11.10 Liverpool Street-Ipswich at Manningtree  on 22 June 1986. The factory and tall factory chimney on the right is now but a memory at this location.Previous | NextIn Network SouthEast livery, Class 309 No. 309602 waits at Harwich Parkeston Quay station while forming a boat train departure to London Liverpool Street on 23 August 1988.
